Have you ever imagined that another world, in another dimension, full of fantasy, magical things, and beautiful surrounding does exist? Most probably we had, when we were a child. That’s explained why Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, Land of Oz, and Wonderland are still our favourite alternate world, favourite place to have a tour. Through this article, we would like to show you what interesting in the particular place, before you pick your destination. Enjoy!
The Alternate World on Big Screen
Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory - Charlie and Chocolate Factory
Charlie and Chocolate Factory (2005) movie was an adaptation of Road Dahl novel that published in 1964. The Story is about a child named Charlie who won hidden Chocolate Factory tour invitation behind Willy Wonka chocolate bar.
With another 4 children accompanied by each parent, they had special tour guided by the factory owner, Willy Wonka, discover what inside the chocolate factory which unexpectedly beyond their imagination, didn’t make any sense, but it was the way it worked.
The most interesting thing inside the Chocolate Factory is the Chocolate River that is flowing from the waterfall and surrounded by sweet grass, berries, candy bushes and trees. We can see Oompa Loompas (yes, there’s no human labour here beside creatures who works inside the factory and help Willy Wonka to operate the factory system), they’re harvesting the sweets everywhere around the river.
Another strange figure that exists inside the building is Great Glass Elevator that can move not only in one vertical angle like common elevator, but in various angle in every Cartesians coordinate, to the every place we want to visit.
Land of Oz - The Wizard of Oz
Wizard of Oz, one of the 250 top IMDB is a musical fantasy adventure film made in 1939 by adapting 1900 novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. This Oscar winner movie is about a farm girl named Dorothy who accidentally travelled to the Land of Oz with her dog through tornado attack in her town, Kansas.
Her house flew and crushed the Wicked Witch of the East in the colourful Land of Oz. To get back home, Glenda the Good Witch suggested her to find the Wizard of Oz in Emerald City, and asked him to get her back home.
Dorothy followed yellow brick road and accidentally found her companies along her journey to Emerald City. They are a seeking brain Scarecrow, seeking heart Tinman, and seeking courage Cowardly Lion.
One that finally surprising is the Wizard who Dorothy met unexpectedly didn’t have any magical power at all. He is a clever magician who can create a projector machine. The projector machine can make Wicked Witch scared and threatened, hence the Wizard of Oz was acknowledged as a saviour Witch by the residence of Oz.
Alice in Wonderland, 1865 novel written by Charles Lutwidge Dogson has many versions including the last gloomy Hollywood version in 2010, starring Jhonny Depp and Anne Hathaway. This movie still becomes eye candy when 19 years old Alice reunited with her old strange friends in Wonderland magical world. So, whom would we meet if we went here? Of course we would met the White Rabbit, Smoking Caterpillar, Chesire Cat, and the one and only Queen of Heart.
The White Rabbit is the one that encountered and followed by Alice through the rabbit hole and accidentally took her to the magical world. Lately he was known as one of King Heart servant.
The Smoking Caterpillar, the one who she first met, gave bad impression through his rude sentences, and difficult questions, that’s why Alice didn’t like him.
Walking in the forest, she met the mysterious Chesire Cat who can appear and disappear whenever he wanted. He took her to Mad hatter, who trapped in time punishment hence they always be in 6 pm (tea time) eternally. Alice invited to the Mad Tea Party, and at the end she felt bored and claimed it as the worst tea party ever.
Another famous character in Alice in wonderland is The Queen of Heart (well, she wasn’t close friend of Alice then). She was the antagonist one because she enjoyed decapitating anyone who merely annoyed her, well that’s why she was claimed as a tyrant.
