By : Aqmarina Andira

It might be a little bit too late, but I think it is our obligation to say Happy 50th Anniversary to Dr. Who, the longest show that have ever aired in TV history. Everyone is celebrating existence of the Time of Lords. Even Google had created the coolest game ever to celebrate this memorable event.

To celebrate this, lets have a general introduction for those who are not familiar with Dr. Who. Lets find out who is he, what is he like, and why he become so popular, shall we?

Time Lords

Dr. Who is one of the Time Lords. In fact, he is the only Time Lord that is not wiped out during The Last Great War.  This means that, our beloved Dr. has all the characteristics of The Great Time Lords.

All of the Time Lords are graduated from Time Lord Academy. They come from a place called Gallifrey, or the shining world of the seven systems. Externally Time Lords look identical to humans, but internally, they are completely different with us. They have Triple-Stranded DNA, two hearts that help regeneration process, and very big brain. They only need to sleep for one hour, and they can regenerate between 13 up to 508 faces over their life times. That leads us to the next big thing.

The Evolution of The Doctor

Up until now, we had seen eleven doctors on screen. Based on average viewers, Paul McGann with his TV Movie in 1996 had the most viewers, that reaches up to 9.8 millions. Tom Baker was placed in the second place with total 8.9 millions viewers. Based on fans favorite, David Tennant was the most favorite modern doctor, while for the classic doctors, Tom Baker beats all his competitors.

That was a little introduction about Dr. Who. Hope you’ll like it.

So, happy 50th anniversary, Doctor!
